At Krieg & Fischer Ingenieure GmbH, we have always appreciated personal contact, constructive conversations and sharing the knowledge with our colleagues and clients. After more than a year of virtual meetings and conferences, we participated at International Scientific & Expert Meeting of Gas Professionals, 16 - 18 June 2021, Opatija, Croatia, organized by Croatian Gas Association. Smilja Latinovic presented integration of bioethanol and biogas – anaerobic digestion of thin stillage as example of circular economy and contribution of biogas to decarbonisation of ethanol production. We thank the organisers for the opportunity to present at this event and believe that biogas and biomethane will contribute to the decarbonisation strategy of gas companies in Western Balkans in years to come.
